Islamic Social Services Association Inc. and Canadian Muslim Leadership Institute host a Public Fundraiser for Pakistan Flood Victims on September 1st 2010
- For Immediate Release -
Pakistan has been struck by the worst flooding in its history. Nearly half the country is underwater, 1700 have died, 1 million homes destroyed and up to 30 million people have been affected – that is more than the combined total of the 2004 Tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir and 2010 Haiti earthquakes.
What:
In solidarity with the flood victims of Pakistan, CMLI has organized a “Fast for the Flood”. Whether you are fasting or not, come and share in our feast. Donate $20 at the door and enjoy an ethnic vegetarian feast, prizes, spoken word, live music, entertainment, and cultural displays.
Date:
Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Location:
At: Riddell Hall, University of Winnipeg
Time:
7:00 pm.
All donations will go to the flood victims and are tax deductible with receipts issued by the Islamic Social Services Association. For more information contact ISSA at (204) 944-1560
